What is a gecko vivarium?

vivarium is a complete habitat for a small animal, such as a lizard or a snake, something like an aquarium, but without water. Creating gekové vivaria requires ensuring that it is possible to have enough space for one or two lizards so that they can live comfortably, as well as heat, water and shelter. It may not look like a completely natural environment, but a geckon will be best if it has all the essentials.

One of the most commonly used types of cages is the aquarium, preferably at least 20 gallons (75.7 l) or more sizes, although sometimes used smaller. It is important that the animal has enough space to wander, which helps keep it happy and healthy. Adding the top of the screen ensures that the passenger cannot get out and is also safe from cats, dogs or even rodents such as rats and mice. Usually, the top of the screen is attached to the cage so that it cannot be easily released.

The bottom of a gekové vivaria is almost always a few centimeters of coarse gravel or sand to simulate as much as possiblee its natural environment. Geckos come from hot, dry areas such as India, Iran and Australia, and they are good when they are located on a known basis. Gravel should always be natural, because lizards do not have to be handled well when they are placed on a surface that has been plasticized or colored, in many types of decorative gravel of the aquarium. Many geckos guards do not like sand because young lizards can try to eat it.

It is common to divide the gecko vivarium in half, keep one side warm and the other cool. This allows the geckon to find a place where it is most comfortable and simulates nature; He chooses a sunny place if it is too cold and a shady place if it is too hot. Gecko vivarium should also provide a lot of hidden places that would help the animal feel safe, with at least one such place in both warms of great section.

Gecko vivarium can also have plants and other decorations. Relatively small plants are buried on levelsRCHU gravel, but larger plants can be planted in small hills of gravel to add diversity and interest to the field. Water is necessary and is usually held in a bowl that is shallow enough to allow the geckon to easily access, but heavy enough to not appear. Many vivaria has more than one source of water to ensure that the resident does not.
