What is Grounie?
The group is generally considered passionate, often feminine, band fans or music artist. The term comes from a woman who connects to the group, the band. While the band is a group, a woman is Grounie. Naturally not all fans are groups and not all groups are women. Furthermore, there are now groups of sports teams or players, actors and quite strangely highly profile criminals. Fan can have all the albums and several pictures of her favorite band. She or he could also visit all the band performances at a reasonable distance from his hometown. The group tends to watch the band, maybe almost travel with them. The group will try to contact the band, either conversational or sexual nature, and can become harassing virtually persecuted band members.H all band members including Roadies. Even if it is rejected, Groupie will usually try to be considered part of the band or important for the band member. The relationship of an obsessed group to the band is like a love relationshipwas wrong. The obsessive groupy is little interested in anything but the band's matters.
Unfortunately, such groups are also powered by "Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll", the atmosphere of the most popular bands and artists. With sex and often available drugs, Groupie can easily become somewhat misleading about its importance. This type of relationship is well documented in the film Cameron Crowe almost famous , where the main group group, great Kate Hudson, overdose drugs after it was used and then rejected the main guitarist.
Based on the real Exp croweeriances as a very young writer, the film is a compassionate view of men and women who lose their occasional use and ignore each other, which are very driven by excessive use of alcohol and drugs. Crowe's conclusion is that these temporary relationships are harmful and tragic. Groups of groupsis an environment that hurts all associated with the band.
Not all musicians or groups would necessarily take this attitude. Many believe that their experiences were fantastic and would not change anything. For example, I am with the band Pamela des Barres with the band , is a positive view of the sexually charged environment of the Grounie at the end of the sixties and early 70 years. The book is very honest and des Barres will not save readers from excessive detail about her sex escapades. The book seems to be more like a praise about a lifestyle rather than expressing regret for its choice. Many band members certainly take advantage of sexual intercourse.
While there are still many groups, in the era of HIV it now concerns a little caution. Some of the better musicians, such as Freddy Mercury of Queen, died of complications of AIDS. It is certain that many years of unprotected sexual intercourse with multiple partners increased the chance of MerkRU to close HIV. His death brought awareness to many musicians who have ever tried to reform their lifestyle, or at least be more careful in approaching accidental sex with the band.
