What is Jack Snipe?

Jack Snipe, scientifically referred to as Lymnocryptes minimus , is a small wading bird originating in parts of Europe, Asia and Africa. It is the smallest oven in the world and can be distinguished from its relative, ordinary snipe, its shorter account and legs. Jack Snipe is the only member of Lymnocryptes, one of the three families of Snipe Family Scolopacidae. Individuals also have dark eye and yellow stripes that were seen when the bird is in flight. During a careful inspection, Jack Snipes can be identified by two side, light -colored crown stripes on their heads; Other clippings have only one central stripe. The flight pattern of this bird is slow and fluttering, lacks a winding formula of a conventional oven, differently distinguishing it from a relative.

The preference habitat of the jack section is wetland areas such as wet, swamps, tundra and wet meadows. In these areas it can easily lie hidden and rely on its excellent camouflage and usually it will not last until something passedeven close to his hiding place. Even then, Jack Snipes will usually fly only a short distance before he descends into the area of strong vegetation. For this reason, birds who are trying to see Jack will usually go through their wetland habitats and hope to go close to one to scare him into the flight.

This bird diet is diverse and insects, larvae, worms, molluscs and vegetation can be used. Jack Snipes is generally fed by testing with their accounts in soft terrain and mud, although they were also observed that they were taking food directly from the surface of the Earth. When feeding, Jack Snipes walks through a significant bouncy movement, which makes the birds look almost as if they were on the springs. The plant mass forms a larger part of its diet than in a conventional oven, allowing Jack Snipes easier to survive during harsh and bad weather.

At the beginning of the reproduction period, the male jack Snipe will put on an impressive air courtship display that consists of rocking and hoveringDrying, intermittent steep dive and fast outputs. It also uses its distinctive calls that many people compared to the sound of gallop. A few mating then nest on the ground and the woman lays a dose of three to four eggs. The entire reproduction period lasts from May to early September. The migrating bird, jack, jack snorts normally in northern Europe and Russia, migrating during the winter months to Great Britain, Coastland Europe, Africa and India.

Jack Snipe is a common bird in its entirety and is estimated to have 1 million birds worldwide. The size and stability of the population make this as a species that is considered to be low concerns in terms of threat. However, as with all the species that share their wetland home, the loss of the habitat is a potential threat to jack due to runoff for agriculture or extraction of peat.
