What is the jet pump?

jet or EDUCTOR Pump is a device that uses a stream of one fluid to draw the other Venturi effect. The jet pump achieves its action by means of an independent fluid flow to create a venturi vacuum in the pump mechanism that sucks the liquid to the drain hose. Jet pumps show a beneficial characteristic of the ability to convert high energy and low volume flow into low energy and high volume flow. They are also able to draw fluids containing high levels of abrasive material that would quickly destroy the moving parts of the conventional pump. When used to pump a well of water, jet pumps also have the advantage that they locate all moving parts of the pump on the surface only by the Venturi section below the ground.

Venturi effect used in jet pumps occurs when the liquid is forced to limit. This causes a simultaneous increase in kinetic energy and a reduction in fluid flow pressure. This pressure reduction is used by a jet pump to draw a liquidUtiny to and through the venturi chamber, which completes the pumping cycle. This method of moving fluids has the advantage of changing the relatively high flow of fluid energy in small flows into a large low -energy flow. As a result, the current pump is ideal for applications requiring a high rate of delivery with a slight head.

In some cases, a simple arrangement with the use of a fire hose as an independent fluid source can bring considerable volumes of discharges. In general, however, a small centrifugal pump is used to supply the independent fluid flow. Usually, part of this pump flow is sent to the jet pump discharge and the rest is used to create a venturi effect. When used to pump a well of water, it has the advantage of finding all the movement on the ground level and has only Venturi's head, Venturi input and drain pipes immersed in the well. Although submersible electric pumps gradually recordThey acknowledge the jet pump, they are still used where low maintenance is required.

Jet pump has another advantage that the lack of moving parts in Venturi causes the drawing of suspended mud is a viable option. This would not be possible with a conventional centrifugal pump, because the sand would quickly surround the impeller and destroy the pump. The relatively small size of the centrifugal pump in relation to high discharge speeds also makes the jet pumps an attractive option in terms of installation, operating costs and maintenance.
