Kentia Palm is a charming, durable, ornamental palm that is suitable for use either inside or out. Naturally, it grows on the Lord Howe Island, located near Australia in the Tasman Sea, but since the mid -18th century it has been popular fashion hotels and houses. His botanical name is Howe Fosteriana , whose family comes from the islands in which he is found, and the name of IT honor Henry William Foster, a legislator who helped women acquire their civil rights in Australia. The plant derives its common name from Kentia, the capital of Lord Howe.
Palm stands upright and has a long, green, decreasing sloping leaves that grow from leaves that begin to fill on the base. Depending on the environment in which it is grown, four to 12 leaves can stem from the trunk. The trunk is swollen at the base and raised rings around it. This prodices coexistence of white, male and female flowers on three to seven hiptech under the leaves. When the palm reaches a maturity of approximately 15 years, it produces reddish -brown oval fruit, which has a length of about 2 inches (5 cm).
Kentia Palm is quite easy to take care of them. Younger palms require bright indirect sunlight for optimal growth. It can tolerate lower light levels, but under these conditions produce fewer leaves. Palms last about five years before they ripen enough to withstand direct sunlight.
Inner palms can grow from 5-12 feet (1.5-3.7 m) high, making them a focus in any room or landscape. If one planted Kentia Palm outside, it is important to realize that they are doing at mild temperatures and coastal areas. Temperature below 25 degrees below 25 degrees Fahrenheit (minus-4 degrees Celsius) and frost can damage the palm.
These plants are slightly thriving soil. It is important that growers do not let the soil dry completely. If Kentia Palm does notSufficiently connected, the tips of the leaves have brown. If it gets too much water, the tips first immortalize and then turn brown.
Overwareting Kentia Palm causes phytophthora, fungal disease that affects the roots of the palm. The use of untreated water for the palm is best because it is sensitive to chemicals found in treated water. Fertilizers with palm degrees can increase the growing time of the palm. Magnesium and potassium would occasionally add to the soil of older plants to make the plant healthy.
