What is knives?

Large fish in the shape of a everyday knife is commonly known as a lot. This fish has an extended appearance and is more related to another group of fish called eels. Most knives come from fresh waters of South America, but several species live in Africa and Southeast Asia.

Knfefish is suitable for two orders, gymnotiforms and osteoglossiforms. These orders consist of several pipes, including Apteronotinae, Electrophorinae, Gymnotinae, Hypopominae, Rhamphichthyinae and Sternopyginae. These families inhabit various parts of South America in fresh waters. There are several types of South American knives that usually range from 8 to 24 inches (20 to 61 cm).

Some knives live in Africa and Southeast Asia. It is a notopteridae family. This family is similar to South American families, except that caudal and anal fins are merged and shows larger fins. These species range from 12 to 40 inches (30.5 to 101.6 cm) in length. Among those who can mature in the tank in the tank are black DUCH, brown spirit, spotted, striped, green and glass variation of knife. Fish from Asia and Africa, which can be brought up in the aquarium, include a clown knife, an Asian knife and African knives.

These fish can be quite large, so they have to live in a tank that can accommodate at least 90 gallons (341 l). Knifefish prefer in a darker space with lots of rocks and plants under which they can hide. However, rocks with sharp edges may be injured because they do not have scales.

Most of these fish are night, but some may be active during the day. When lifted in the tank, they feed on the darkness. They eat live food such as insect larvae, worms and crustaceans, as well as sliced. Some of these fish pop out from the tank if the tank lid is not safely closed.

Knifefish can be known as aggressive to each other or to a smaller fish and will eat smaller fish in nature or captivity. They make the best in the domestic aquariumPE with fish similar to size and growth. They are usually not aggressive to fish that are medium to large size. Most knife species live for three to seven years, with several species living for 10 years.
