What is a small blue heron?

Herons are wading birds and are in the family ardeidae . There are four Heron Slodins: Daily Herons, Night-Heroni, Tiger Herons and Bitterns. A small blue heron or Egretta caerulea is a member of the daily Heron. Ruffles mainly feed on fish and frogs and can be found around the world. They are migratory birds and spend the winter months mostly in Central America. During the summer in the United States finds them to the north like Illinois. They are quite different from the large blue heron, have a more intense blue color and less curves to the necks. Unlike some herons, Little Blue Heron has no feathers that save them from hunters.

As the name suggests, small blue herons are small. Both males and women look the same, with blue bodies, chestnut heads and necks and black top gray accounts that are very long and slightly curved. Their long legs allow them to stand in water and hunt prey. They apply from 56 to 74 centimeters (22 to 29 inches) and weigh about 296 to 412 grams (10.5 to 14.5 pounds). They have a range of about 100 centimeters (40 inches).

In addition to fish and frogs, there is a small blue heron insects, molluscs and reptiles. It chases water and uses its long, sharp account to catch prey when it swims or flies around. Small blue herons can usually be found in swamps, lakes, ponds and rivers.

During the mating season, the male blue heron will choose a place for a nest before choosing a woman. The courts by rocking the neck and singing and can capture his beak. The woman approaches and adjusts each other and connects their necks.

Small blue nests of herons in colonies with others, especially in trees or shrubs. The eggs are laid three to five at a time and are blue-green colors. Both parents incubate eggs that hatch in about three weeks. When they are born, children are white and start to turn blue around their first spring. Children leave the nest after 30 to 40 days. Baby Little Blue Herons are sometimes grouped with snowy herons. Egrets will be better tolerated to children than adults. Small blue herons that hunts with Egrets are more successful, which may be why they are white as children. Mature adults tend to hunt themselves.
