What is Mumnice?

Mummery or Mummer's game is a type of folk game. Many Mummeries contain pantomime with allegorical charts and characters drawn from folk faith and mythology. Mumming's practice is quite old and Mummeries can be seen in many parts of the world today, usually on historical recovery and on special occasions. Mummer performing does not require any special skills, depending on the character it plays, and some people enjoy participation in this form of folk art as a way of celebrating their culture and inheritance. Soon Mummeries were carried out exclusively in Pantomime and Mummers often wore masks and other disguise, explained the term "Guisers" to refer to artists in Mummeria. Some monarchs, including Henry VIIII, even performed in the mummer themselves and enjoyed the ability to mask for the night.

In addition to the character of the characters from fOlktales, Mummeries often include topics of good and evil, with loyal knights bravely fighting against attackers and other evil representatives. Many Mummeries also have a mystical gust, with a powerful wizard or a doctor who has the ability to restore the life of the killed hero. Classically, the theme of the resurrection was very common in the mummery and in many cases the wounded character represented a monarch or nation, triumphing over evil and becoming stronger in this process.

The story in Mumery is often exaggerated and strongly introduced and historically Mummeries often contained a veiled political comment. In an era with complex social gates, it would be easy to put a comment in seemingly harmless entertainment, and Mummeries were used to criticize the regimes or to direct a particular rulers.

Today, the mummers dress in vintage costumes and can wear masks or face face or go bare faces. They perform in shows and on special days they can revive the tradition of mumming in the streets and travel from home to home. MummEry is particularly lively and well in Britain, where it has been practiced for hundreds of years, and in some former colonies this artistic form has also been preserved.
