What is Norwegian pine?

Norwegian pine (Pinus resinosa), also known as red pine, is an evergreen tree that grows in the mild zones of the world, especially in the northern United States and Canada. It is marked as a state tree of Minnesota and despite its name does not come from Norway. This type of pine is long -term and some trees grow for 400 years. During wood harvesting, Norwegian pine can be used in the production of lumber, rail, telephone poles and other wooden products that must be penetrated by preservatives.

Norwegian pines have one straight strain that grows between 50 and 150 feet (15 to 46 m) high and 5 feet (1.5 m) in diameter. Young trees are often used as Christmas trees. About 15 years of age, the trees are mature enough to produce cones. The tree needles are long and dark green. These pines grow well in sandy soil and are valuable for stopping erosion.

As a garden sample, the Norwegian pine is popular for the diverse colors of the bark and the shape of the tree. The bark is withThe sentences of the gray shade on the lower trunk, but become a thinner, scaly and orange red color on the upper half of the tree, which is why the tree is sometimes called red pine. Young trees have a conical shape, but as the tree grows, the lower branches fall away and the leaves in the upper third of the tree rounded. Because the shadow produced by the mature pine of Norway does not cover the soil, the area under the tree can be modified.

Norwegian spruce (Picea Albies) tree has a similar name, but is different in its properties. Like most spars, it has a conical shape with many layers of branches covered with short, dark green fragrant needles. These trees grow up to 3 feet (0.91 m) per year and reach a height of 40 to 60 feet (12 to 18 m). Norwegian spruce comes from northern Europe and as Norwegian pine, growing well in cold climate.

The interesting specimen of the spruce of Norway is called the crying Norwegian spruce. This rare field plant is used as a focus in the garden. The tree generally grows 1-3 feet tall (0.3 to 0.9 m), but ifIt is not cropped and trained to shape, grows up to 10 feet (3 m) wide. With bending branches, the tree can be cut and trained into pleasant forms. Like other Norway Evergreens, this tree is resistant and low maintenance.
