What is the peony?

Peony is a plant in the genus Paeonia. Peonies are originally from China and Japan, where they have long been valued for its striking manifestations of colorful flowers and cultivate in the northern hemisphere in gardens of all shapes, styles and sizes. Many garden shops carry peonies and several companies actually specialize in breeding and hybridizing these plants and creating a stunning number of cultivars to satisfy a wide range of tastes. You can also see peonies depicted in many works of Asian art, where they are associated with happiness, happiness, long life and honor. They produce large, striking flowers that are usually quite colored, with leaves that are deeply lobed, sometimes so much that they look extremely lace. Peonies can be white, yellow, pink, red and yellow and tend to appear at the end of spring and early summer.
