What is the PEP group?

PEP bands are special music groups to promote school spirit, entertain the audience of school sports events and encourage school athletes. Generally, universities and schools such as high schools or secondary schools, bands to support their football, basketball and some other athletic teams. Many PEP bands are established as clubs and some members serve as president, vice -president and treasurer.

The aim of the PEP Band group is to encourage students on game and game functions such as PEP. PEP bands sometimes can offer the degree of crowd control by selecting the music they play. Another goal is to entertain the participants of the game before and after the game, which can also be a form of control of the crowd.

Generally, members of the PEP group are selected from other school bands. Bands can sometimes look for their members from the faculty, graduates or community, especially if the school is small and the selection is limited. The conductor is often a senior who has previous experience with PEP band.
