What is the rabbit?

Rabbitbrush or Chrysothamnus nauseosus is one of the types of plants from the southwestern desert of North America. Rabbitbrush is a deciduous shrub that produces yellow or yellowish green flowers. Although this type of Sagebrush is considered little agricultural value, it can be an important source of grazing for livestock and wildlife. Native Americans once used the plant healing. Many gardeners now grow decoratively as a native garden plant. It is a permanent shrub with raised stems and a rounded crown. The flowers are yellow or yellowish green and usually 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) in diameter. The twigs are yellowish green and rubber, while the trunk has gray -brown colors. The bark of the rabbit is fibrous and easily shredded.

Rabbitbrush usually prefers a dry climate. You can find growth natively in the North American Southwest, in dry, open grass stands or open forests to the north of Western Canada and south as a northern Mexico. These plants are the usualle able to prosper in different types of land. The soil can be acidic or alklaine and can be dry, sandy, gravel or heavy in the dirt. The plant needs small watering and is considered to be resistant to drought.

Rabbitbrush usually in summer flowers. It may start to bloom in June in some areas, although usually flowers later, July or August. Flowers may persist until September or October. The flowers are aromatic and generally emit the smell of precipitation. These shrubs are often attractive to insects such as butterflies and bees.

Rabbitbrush can be an important source of grazing for livestock and wild animals in areas where grazing leaves are exhausted, or during winter, when other pastures are rare.
