What is the reglet?
Reglet is a building component used to prevent rain and other forms of moisture into the building. Regletes usually occur at intersections between vertical and horizontal surfaces of the building, but can be used at any transition from one material to another. For example, reglet is often used on the roof on the joint between the window sill and the flat surface of the roof. Builders can also install these devices between the balcony and the wall or in the crossing area between masonry and towing in the middle of the wall surface. Minimizing the risk of moisture infiltration prevent mold and rot in the cavity of the wall. They can also help extend the life of insulation, plasterboard and other building materials by keeping them dry and protected.
different types of reglet are selected based on the type of wall to which they will be installed. The contact reglet consists of a metal channel that is built into concrete, as well as a separate part of the flashing. One end of flashing surprise to the channel creates a safeConnection, while the other end extends over the barrier of the wall moisture. When the rain hit the wall, it flows over the flashing and continues down from the wall to the ground. The flicker can also be disconnected during future repairs of the roof and then reinstalled by capturing them back to the site.
in the wall wall, reglet usually includes only one piece of metal flashing. The metal is bent to form a "L" shape, so when one end of the reglet is installed between the brick or block courses, the other end extends on the face of the wall. The reglets used in the walls of plasterboard or stucco have a similar shape. One end is a shelf that supports the base of plasterboard or plaster, while the tdruhý end extends on the wall for several centimeters to prevent moisture.
Depending on the construction of the building, the installer can use surface reglets that are attached to the face of the walls or screws. A small amount of seals or structural adhesive is added to the upper and lower part of the reglet to prevent infiltration of moistureSTI. This type of application is common with pre -winging concrete, which does not allow to build a standard concrete reglet into the wall.
