What is the Saltbox house?

House Saltbox is a type of frame house that is characterized by two stories and one story at the back. This architectural style appeared in New England around 1630 and the Saltbox houses were built well in the mid -18th century. Today homeowners from New England sometimes restore antique houses with salt box in which they live, and several of them are also maintained by the United States Park service, for visitors who want to see what life in colonial new England was. Saltbox houses are flat in front, with a middle chimney square in the middle of the roof. The roof is asymmetrical, with a short, steep roof at the front and a much longer, inclined roof in the back, which holds a clear extension of the house. Slave boxes are also traditionally made of wooden framing and are often covered in cling tiles.

The name Thistyl's architecture refers to containers in which the salt was held once. Salt was suddenly a very valuable commodity and was carefully stored in containers that often lookAle like the miniature version of the Saltbox house.

The design of the Saltbox house is quite rigid, with several deviations from the basic form. Rooms in the upper story are characterized by steeply oblique ceilings, thanks to the roof playground, and in some cases, partial attic can be built into the upper story for storage. The windows are usually symmetrical, both sides of the house look like mirror images of each, while the front of the house has several large windows evenly distributed to create a harmonious look. In the back of the house, the windows tend to be smaller.

It is assumed that the origin of the Saltbox house is related to the tax rules on private homes. The tax rate for home homes was different from the two story houses, so the legend has that people started building Saltbox houses to get around the tax. It is also possible that this design has appeared when people startedAdd slim tos to the back of their two story houses to expand them, and these slim tos gradually began to integrate into the design of new houses.
