What is the sandy skink?

Skink sand is a relatively rare type of lizard originating from peeling countries of middle florida. Biologists do not know much about sand, and all other reptiles of his family are now considered extinct. Typical sand skink is about 4 inches (10.2 centimeters) long and is gray or brown. These lizards usually have very small legs and usually have only one tip on each front leg that on each back leg with two fingers. Sand skins usually move under the sand, using a movement pattern of a similar swimming, which generally leaves the undulating path on the surface above. They have evolved to live in sandy areas and usually have special niches on their bodies, where they can tuck their slight front legs during the locomot. Normally they do not have ear openings and their eyes are usually very small. These lizards usually have transparent eyelids, so the troops can keep their eyes open while traveling under sand. The snout of the sand usually comes to the point, which allows him to better deal with sand.

This type of reptile is very rare because its native habitat consists of only six districts in Florida, in the southern United States, and faces loss of habitat because of human activity. Usually only puts two eggs per season. Females usually carry eggs in bodies on average 55 days. They generally prefer burial eggs under heavy object, such as a fallen tree. The eggs usually hatch about 45 days later.

generally are most observable in spring and early summer. They are assumed that they prefer a sandy habitat with small vegetation and usually inhabit areas where there are a lot of sand and growth of vegetation, such as sandy pine or rosemary, is sporadic and scanty. Some specimens have been found in areas with lots of vegetation, but their habit of moving below the surface of the sand means that in general they have to live in a place where few roots are below the soil. Sand skins usually travel through a tunnel ina depth of 2 to 4 inches (5.08 to 10.2 centimeters) below the surface where ants, larvae and thermites can hunt.
