What is Slinky®?
Invented naval engineer Richard James in 1943 and reaching the market in 1945, Slinky® is one of those toys that have exceeded a fad and showed their inertial power. At the time of the invention, James worked for the shipyard cramps in Philadelphia. In an effort for spring, which would help stable ship instruments, he tested many models that differed in size, ingredients and tension. The disorders were accumulated on the table, and when one fell, James first observed a characteristic end movement that allows Slinyss® to walk up the stairs. James's wife Betty agreed to have potential, and she was the one who came with the name Slinky®.
Slinkys® were first sold in Philadephii at the 1945 department store. Jameses took 400 toys, each of which was made of 63 feet (19.2 m) wire curved up to 98 stacked coils. And they sold them all within an hour and a half. At the beginning of the twentieth century, more than 300,000,000 slisis® pointed around the world were sold.
