What is a smooth chase?
Smooth chase is a shark belonging to the Triakidae family, the family Mustelus , a Latin term that means a lassist. These slender, crab fish are found in water areas from 6 to 150 feet (2-46 m) above continental shelves in the Pacific Ocean. Smooth hole sharks belong to the terrestrial sharks of Carcharhiniformes, which includes about 277 known species. They are spilled from 45.7 inches (116 cm) to approximately 64.7 inches (161 cm) long with a maximum length of 4 feet (121.9 cm). Their blunt teeth are suitable for their diet mostly crabs, shrimp and other crustaceans, small fish and worms found in rocks and sand sections of their shallow habitat. Usually their lifetime lasts from six to nine. They are not dangerous to people, but if they are provoked, they will bite. Smooth clocks roam in schools or as lonely individuals, sometimes associated with barbed dogfisha leopard sharks. This species will give birth to a living young instead of laying eggs. Litter on average two to sixPuppies born after ten months, usually in spring. At birth, the child's sharks are fully able to take care of themselves, although they are only 8-12 inches (20-30 cm).
Predators of smooth chase sharks include larger sharks such as Hammerheads and Blacktips, as well as humans. The main shark products that people use are meat, fins for shark fin soup, cartilage, liver oil and teeth of some species for decoration. Especially brown smooth Holanka is a popular game fish.
Sharks are a valuable aquarium, but they are not for everyone. A smooth Holanka needs a large salt water tank without a sharp object and an experienced aquarist who will take care of it properly. The tank must be covered with mesh or some other barrier to prevent this active swimmer to jump. Sharks for public and private aquariums are not kept in captivity, but are collected in the wild. Many kinds of sharks are slowly recovering from excessive fishing due to a long period of pregnancy and low birth weights. Some species of sharks of smooth work in the northeast Atlantic are more sensitive than previously thought. When scientists learn more about them, the effort to maintain them can begin with their protection. Responsible collection and harvest will ensure that they survive smooth chasing sharks in the number of sufficient to maintain their ecosystems.
