What is a tennis t -shirt?

Tennis shirt, often referred to as a half shirt or simply polo, is a shirt style developed initially for wear during tennis matches, but has since spread to different sports and other fields as preference clothing. Tennis shirts were designed as a T -shaped shirt in the shape of a short sleeve with a collar and a short plaque, usually with just two or three buttons, intended to satisfy the needs of tennis players. Since its invention, however, the use of these clothing has spread to other areas and have been introduced in a number of different fashion collections. These were commonly worn with heavy flannel pants and the whole clothing was not very suitable for extensive athletic activity. The French tennis champion René Lacoste suggested a new style of clothing that would allow more comfort and movement and would generally be better served by tennis.

Lacoste suggested his first tennis shirt to have short sleeves, rather than long sleeves that traditionally wear out and develop during the match. It included a collar that would help absorb sweat and be inverted to keep sunlight on the back of the neck. Short plaque on the neckline would allow the shirt to fasten for greater modesty or slightly unbuttoned to allow the wearer to cool during the match. Lacoste used a knitted substance, specifically pique cotton, rather than woven material, for greater durability and because it took a better breath to help cool the wearer during the game.

The original tennis shirt designed Lacoste also included a small alligator embroidered in the front of the chest, because American journalists began to refer him to a "alligator" or "crocodile". Its original tennis shirt was immediately noticed by other players and Lacoste soon worked with Merchandiser's clothes to accumulate his garment. The shirt was quite successful among a number of different sports players, especially Polo players who wore a shirt so manyO that the design became known more often as a half shirt than a tennis shirt in many different regions.

At the end of the 20th century, the tennis shirt was listed in fashion from designers such as Ralph Lauren and grew to popularity between technology companies and other office environments as a standard for "business occasional" fashion. Tennis shirts are also often worn in the retail industry, where employers long for clothing, which is more professional than an ordinary shirt, but is not as formal as a button shirt.
