What is a thank you?

While many etiquette rules have been ejected in recent years, one Convention still applies to well -behaved: thank you. A card or note is still expected when a person receives a gift or other consideration that may be somewhat unusual. It gives the donor to know that the gift has been received and awarded. Ideally, this should be written for birthdays and Christmas gifts from relatives other than parents. Whether the gift is a material item or cash, the card should be sent immediately after receiving the gift. Employees should also send a thank you after they have been interniezen with a potential employer.

thank you to be sophisticated. A person can send one purchased as a congratulations in a supermarket, at a license plate or on an empty card. Expressed gratitude is what is important.

Some people hesitate to write thank you because “they don't know,What to say ". This is easy to overcome - one simply thank you for a gift donor and expresses recognition for him.

A suitable message can go on these lines: "Dear grandmother. Thank you very much for giving me a scarf and hat for Christmas. They will help me keep in the warmth of this winter. I appreciate your consideration. Love, Johnny."

For the check, the receiver could write something like "Dear Aunt Tillie. Thank you very much for a check of $ 20 at my graduation. It will help me for my backup payment for college. I appreciate your idea. Thank you again. Love, John."

The writer should always express thanks, tell the donor how the gift will be used and how much is appreciated. A hand -made gift should always be particularly recognized for thanks. "Knowing you made my scarf and hat, it's very strange," there is only one example.

gratitude is perhaps not so commonly expressed as it used to be, so sincere thanks, even short, will be appreciated. It is a rule of etiquette that deserves to be maintained.
