What is Tobax?

Tubax is like a group of redesigned saxophones, which was first created by a German instrument manufacturer named Benedict Eppelsheim in 1999, and especially the EB tool with modern saxophone fingers, a baritone saxophone and a series of octaves under the baritone. It is therefore equivalent to the extent to the smuggled saxophone in the EB, but avoids that he rarely used a strong tone and lack of dexterity of the instrument, although Tubax also lacks the power of the smuggled saxophone. Its narrower drilling means that less air is required and that it can play quietly in its entirety. The design for subcontrabass saxophone was patented by Adolphe Sax, but never finished it. The working model of the tool is now BB Tubax is the fourth below EB Tubax and octave under the bass saxophone. He uses a bass saxophone mouthpiece, D Since it is four times composed instead of two, it is not much higher than a baritone saxophone. There is C tubax, but is only available according to a special order.

tubax in any key is a transposition tool. Like other saxophones, they are written from BB3 to F#6 on the height staff. EB tubax sounds 2 octaves and the main sixth lower than written. BB tubax sounds 3 octaves and the main second lower. All TUBAX types have another Altissimo Registry key and provides an extended upper range.

Tubax players include Randy Emerick, Jay Easton, Scott Robinson, Thomas Zoller and Fred Bayer. Thomas Zoller also folded pieces for Tubax, as well as Andreas van Zoelen, Vinny Golia, Chaya Czernowin and Guy Barker.
