What is aerangis?
Aerangis, often referred to as AGS in the parent industry, is a member of the Orchidaceae family. Like most orchids, the aerangis epiphytic plant is. Aerangis comes from the tropical areas of Africa and Madagascar and is also considered one of the most difficult and simplest orchids that will grow inside.
orchids are usually produced by leaves of dark green and somewhat stiff. They produce stems that are eight to 18 inches (about 0.2-0.5 m long) and produce flowers. Aerangis flowers are usually white or creamy colored and have five petals in Star Burst formation. In recent years, some AGS has also become available with yellow flowers.
Like most orchids, the aerangis epiphytic plant is. This type of plant grows on another plant or occasionally on buildings, public wires or other surfaces. Epiphytic plants are generally referred to as air plants and include bromeliads, staghorn fern, some lichens and mosses. The roots of epiphyticsPlant only attach the plant to the surface of another plant.
epiphytic plants, however, are not parasites and generally harmless to the plant to which they are connected. Epiphytic plants obtain their moisture from regular precipitation and moisture. The nutrients are supplied to the orchid through precipitation and organic matter, which is collected in the plant itself and decomposes over time.
orchids, such as aerangis, can be grown outside in tropical places where temperatures on average 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit (about 15-26 degrees Celsius). Freezing temperatures or frost are likely to kill an orchid. Orchids grow naturally under the trees and prefer shaded or mostly shaded places.
When growing orchids as a room roop, bright light from the east or western window is preferred. In general, the amount of light that prefers an orchid may be determined by the sizeand the shape of its leaves. Orchids that the pussy leaves AVE will need the most light. Orchids with leaves that are wider can prosper with smaller light.
In general, it is best to water the orchid heavily and then let it dry before irrigation. The clay pots are usually better for orchid growing than plastic columns. They are also more porous to allow better air flow to the roots. An important factor in growing orchids, inside or out, is sufficient moisture or humidity in the air. Because the orchids come from tropical places, they require high humidity to be successful. If you try to grow orchids outdoors, a sprayer or fog system can be used to maintain wet air.
in the interior, the orchid can be placed in the tray of wet gravel. The water in the tray naturally evaporates and adds moisture to the surrounding air. Orchids can also be mixed regularly with a spray bottle.
There is a great debate on how easy - or difficult -Orchids can grow. Wide Vave School and Garden Centers are available varieties of orchids, each with different growing requirements. In addition, many products are successfully on the market for orchids, including specialized pots, soil watering and fertilizers.
