What is African Daisy?

African Daisy, which belongs to the Dimorphotheca family, is a brightly colored annual flower of the original in South Africa. Its flowers are daisies and usually white, yellow, apricot, pink or orange. These flowers grow to an average height of one and a half foot (46 cm) and a typical flowering size has a width of two to four inches (5 to 10 cm). African Daisy usually takes 10 to 30 days to germinate and bloom between April and August each year. Other flowers are closely related to this, are Arctotis, Gazania and Gerbera Daisies.

African daisies are usually planted in the spring just after the threat of frost passed for the season. They can also start inside the containers two months before the last frost and transplanted outside when the weather is warm enough. The ideal place for planting is in full sun with a rich, well exhausting soil and neutral pH. Climate with low humidity, hot days and cold nights are proaphric daisy. Weather conditions in most southwestern United States meet these PDrowns, which makes the area ideal for growing these flowers.

Recommended depth for sowing African Daisy seeds is 1/16 inch (1.6 mm). Flowers should be distributed by eight to ten inches (20 to 25 cm), so they will not push each other as soon as they begin to spread. Moist soil is important, but excessive watering should be avoided. Weekly watering is usually enough for African daisies, but if the weather becomes extremely hot, more water and rain rain may be needed for more than a week. It is not unusual to see these flowers exhibited in rock gardens except beds and borders. They will also do well like domestic plants if they are placed in an area that receives a lot of sunlight.
