What is American Kestrel?

American Kestrel is a small Falcon native of America. These birds have a range from the northern areas of Canada to Tierra del Fuego and are low for nature because their populations are large, stable and highly adaptable. Many birds in America have a chance to see American Kestrelle during birding trips, and since these birds are known to settle in the urban environment, even city residents can meet. These birds are also known as the common name "Sparrow Hawk", although it is a bit incorrect, because birds hunt sparrows and are not related to other birds that relate to this common name. Genetic research has suggested that the American Kestrel is not even technically Kestrel, and in fact he genetically deviated from real Kestrel.

The American Kestrel is one of the smallest Falcon species, the size of Robin. Males have very colorful feathers, which include reddish and orange tones, bluish gray characters, creamy underbaths and distinctive black steps on the wings and tail. Women have a teNdence to have a slightly dull color.

American Kestrals eat insects and small animals. They are lonely birds, they prefer to live on their own territory and sometimes become extremely defensive. Kestrels call with noise "Kee Kee Kee", which is usually repeated several times and hunts from above. Birds can sit and wait for the prey to go through or float in thermal streams to be careful about the movements on the ground.

During the season of mating, American Kestrels will join and participate in cooperation in egg incubation and increasing young people. Birds will nest in cavities and holes from natural holes in trees to gutter houses and are quite adaptable when it comes to life in an enemy environment. The American nests of Kestrel were seen in various unlikely places, including nests abandoned by other bird species.

4 Driving these birds can be somewhat demanding compared to other types due to their small size and CitlIvas, but quickly tame and can provide Falconers for valuable training in learning how to handle and train a hunting bird. Types of prey for falconers working with American Kestrals include small birds and amphibians.
