What is an attic bed?

The term "attic bed" may apply to a bed used in the attic or may apply to the attic bed. Any bed can be used in the attic if it fits, and allows adequate movement around the space, making the bed an attic bed. The attic beds, however, have a special design that increases the mattress high from the ground, so there is a space on the table or storage space in general. The attic beds are generally not used in the attic space because they occupy a fair amount of vertical space.

Refined attic spaces are commonly used as a bedroom, in which case the attic bed will be required. The size of the bed will vary depending on the amount of space available in the attic and the size of the door that provides access to the attic. Mattresses must be transported by these doors and in many cases staircases, so if the bed is too large to fit into these spaces, it cannot be used as an attic bed. Otherwise, any size Mattress can generally be used if it fits.

Many people who specify the attic for the bedroom space will decide to use platform beds instead of traditional beds that have a box spring, mattress and frame. This is done to reduce the amount of vertical space taken with an attic bed, because the walls of the attic are often oblique. The platform bed does not require the use of the spring in the box and the platform itself can be relatively low to the ground. Some beds on the platform have a forehead, even if it is wise to choose a model without a headband or with a very low forehead to save in a vertical space.

If the attic is not used exclusively as a bedroom, there are other options for the attic bed.
