What is ocicat?
Despite its appearance, there is no ocicat mix of cat cat. Instead, it is a completely homemade cat, but thanks to a happy accident breeding its spotted coat and muscular body cause it seems to come from wild cats. Ocicats are known for their carefree nature, which stands, unlike their non-commenced appearance.
OCICAT was originally bred in 1964, which is the result of the cross trembling of Siames, Abbynian and American Shorthair Cats from Virginia. Ocicats can be found in different colors, most of them similar to their mother breeds such as cinnamon, floating and blue. They do not require special food or care. Ocicats are very social creatures and appreciate the society of people and other animals, but they are not doing well if they remain largely for themselves. Occats are generally intelligent, combined with their social nature can make training easier. Some owners state that their Occaty follows voice, go on a leash and play load. Ocicats are povaLiving loyal to their owners, but also personal and curious with strangers.
Original breeder OCICAT. The lady gave, known as an innovative cat breeder, intended to breed Siam-Point, but instead created Tongu, the first ocicat. The lady gave it as a pet, but a newspaper story about a beautiful spotted cat attracted the attention of genetics, Dr. Clyde Keeler, who was fascinated by this domestic cat, which looked like many endangered wild cats. In the end, the lady began to breed more cats and named the Occat breed on the suggestion of her daughter because of his similarity with the steel, a wild cat originating in Mexico, South America and Central America.
The breed, however, slowly grabbed, because Mrs. Daly's personal life prevented her from promoting a cat in a community of breeding cats. While Cat Fancier's Association (CFA), a widely recognized organization for registration of cats pLemen, in 1966 gave status a registered status OCICAT, until 1987, when Occats became a recognized breed of the championship. As it applies to all breeds of the championship, there is a strict standard of breed, which defines the designation good OCICAT. The lady gave herself supported the standard of the breed, which retains Occat's angular head and a strong chin because she wanted the cat to keep her wild look. The championship standard also supports a relatively long tail and distinctive, well -defined features on the cat's body.
