What is the toilet flange?

When the toilet is mounted on the drain pipe, the flange is a piece that fits between the base of the toilet and stretches down into the pipe. Most of the time is the flange of a straight part of a special tube that has extended holes at the upper end. The lower part of the pipe is aligned directly below the center of the upper hole. The offset flange of the toilet is a connecting piece where the tube that fits down into the drain pipe is not directly below the center of the upper hole, but instead tilted so that the bottom tube is only under the rear of the flange.

Although the offset toilet flange can be a bit difficult to install, in some cases it is the only realistic option to place the drain pipe. There are times when the construction of the bathroom leads to the floor beam that runs directly below the entire or part of the preferred location for the toilet. This means that the drain pipe must come to the surface on one side of the beam, which limits the possibility of location for the toilet.

When using a normal flange in such a situation, the toilet ends in an unpleasant place, usually too close or too far from the wall. When the drain pipe is too close to the wall, the use of the toilet of the offset allows you to move the location of the toilet by a few inches and move it to a more suitable location in the bathroom. The Offset's toilet flange can also be used to move the toilet back to the wall if it is too far, or to the left or right for better will around other bathroom accessories.

Since the upper part of the curvature of the pipeline from the bottom, mounting the toilet flange from offset requires a little more effort, because it is important to make sure the toilet is properly supported. In the standard flange, the entire pipe is vertical and the lower part helps to support the upper part, because all the weight is centered over the drain pipe. However, the upper part has no support pipe under a large manual area with an offset toilet flange. If it is not well supported, it is likely that it will break when used. Adjusting the block below the front of the flange is necessary for the use of this type of water supply.
