What is an oil oven?

Oil furnace is a heating system used to provide hot water or heated internal air. Oil furnaces use pressure oil fog to ignite and heat. Oil is not particularly pure fuel, the primary reason why most people prefer electric or natural gas heating. However, these furnaces are still available for sale and many still work in older homes and public buildings.

The oil furnace can be more precisely called a pressure burner. The heating function takes place in the combustion chamber, where high pressure oil is sprayed through an electric spark to form a flame. The resulting heat can be easily regulated by the amount of oil fog sprayed into the chamber. The oil is kept in the tank and replenished whenever the delivery is low. The efficiency of the furnaces is measured according to the percentage of the annual efficiency of fuel use (AFUE). The oil furnace is considered to be a very good heater if it reaches 80% or more. However, the AFUE evaluation for gas heaters may be much higherí, with an efficiency evaluation of 95% at the top of the line furnaces.

Compared to natural gas, oil is not the purest of oil products. The stored oil contains a large amount of sulfur that can be built and caused by failures in the furnace system. Oil soot can clog the spray nozzle and accumulate in the combustion chamber, which seriously affects the percentage. Experts on heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) recommend that oil furnaces are professionally cleaned at least once a year.

HVAC technician is eligible to remove soot deposits that accumulate inside the oil furnace. The annual cost of service calls can be added up within a few years, especially compared to any more alternatives of gas or electric furnaces. In fact, many HVAC technicians are no longer receiving service calls for oil furnaces.

years ago, the oil furnace was a reliable heating system for placing without gas service. TodayIt hit natural gas service on almost every city position. Anyone without gas service can easily and cheaply connect a portable propane tank for heat. Electric heat is also easily accessible. In principle, electrical and natural gas furnaces are overtaken by a domestic heating industry and the use of oil furnaces slowly decreases.
