What is oil?
OilCloth is a specially treated fabric that is waterproof. Originally it was made of canvas impregnated with oil, which gave it a name; In a modern sense, this term usually concerns vinyl material supported by cotton. There are a number of uses for the oil belt, including coverage for tables, chairs and shelves; as a pillow of outdoor furniture; And in the form of waterproof bags, bags and tire. It often comes in distinctive bright colors that are relatively resistant to fading, although more subdued colors and patterns are available. The canvas material could be coated with oils, waxes, clays or other materials to make it waterproof, and then used to pack valuable materials for the sea paths or to produce the top -resistant clothing. Oilcloth would be robust, durable and relatively cheap. This is also likely to come to a limited range of colors because it was designed for function rather than beauty.
When the market for the oil craftsman increased, some entrepreneurs realized that this could also be used as durable floor coverings. While the houses of the rich did not appear oil floors, more impoverished families used it to provide bright colors and maintain cleaner floors, especially in households with wrapped dirt or poorly designed wooden floors. This type of floor later evolved into linoleum and similar products, but examples of the "rug" and other floor materials can still be seen in some museums.
When vinyl and similar plastics began to expand, they replaced the canvas as a base material for oil threshold. Plastics may not be treated to make them waterproof and can also be clearer and stronger than a canvas. Most of the vinyl oil cloak stands for support of some or other forms, but it is much easier to take care of it than a traditional type. A warm soap sponge can be used to clean the vinyl oil mantle and the fabric can be usedbe suspended to be dried if it must be. As long as it is stored, rather than folded, the material remains without wrinkles and is ready for use. If the oil cracking is returned, iron can be used to smooth the fabric for very low settings, if a layer of cotton is used between iron and oil washing so that the material does not spill.
