What is antirrhinum?

Antirrhinum is a genus flowering plants commonly known as Snapdragon. It is a popular garden plant that is available in different colors and sizes. antirrhinum acquires its common name from the shape of its flowers, which is assumed to resemble the face of the dragon, with the mouth that opens and closes when the hips are squeezed. It is available in many different cultivars, including plants with white, yellow, orange, pink and lavender flowers. Unlike the typical shape of Snapdragon, there are also cultivars with pelorway flowers that are fully symmetrical. In the wild, a. Majus has purple to pink flowers, often with yellow lip.
