What is Aubrieta?
Aubrieta is a genus that includes 12 species of flowering plants. Named after the French painter Claude Aubriet, these plants came from southern Europe and Central Asia and can now be found throughout Europe. All species share the same growth behavior and general appearance. This genus is characterized by brightly colored flowers that bloom in white, pink and purple blue.
