What is Cavetto?

Cavetto is a type of architectural shaping that curls inside to the wall. It gets its name from Italian for "to Hollow" and has a concave curve that represents at least one quarter of a circle or more. This lining serves aesthetic and functional purpose in the room. It acts as a decorative element or transient piece and also helps to hide gaps and seams on walls, ceilings or doors.

This lining can be used inside and out. Cavetto pressing is most often associated with ancient Egyptian architecture, where it was used to create ledges along the tops of the building. This formation can be applied to the motherboard or can act as a form of crown formation in the room. It can be used at the top of the fireplace to create an attractive sheath or fireplace. Cavetto also serves as a popular form of door and windows equipment. The tentrous pattern is created in a way that reflects the light from the curved profile of this crop. Cavetto's concave curve causes the upper part of the lining to appear dark,While the bottom seems to be light. These light and dark patterns help attract the eye to certain architectural elements in space and also serve as a decorative property.

trim Cavetto is often used in convex lining known as ovulo, which has the opposite profile of Cavetto. By placing these two moldings side by side, builders can create a S-shaped profile. When the Canetto is located above the ovulo, the resulting S-curve is known as the CYMA profile. If the cavret is placed under the ovulo, the resulting curve is called OGEE forming. Both of these forming profiles are very commonly used as a cornice or crown formation in households and other buildings.

In the past, builders would cut cave formation manually using special wood processing tools. Today many stores with improvements and hardware for selling pre -produced lengths of this hem, allowing quick and easy installation. This lining can be made of wood, vinyl or even metal depending on the application. The buyers simply cut the lining into the desired size and nails or screw it to the wall. Caevtto pressing can then be painted or colored to match further trim and wood in the building.
