What is Cirsium?

Cirsium is a genus of plants that is part of the Asteraceae family. It contains about 200 types of annuals, biennials and perennials that come from North America, Europe, Asia and North Africa regions. Most species have a barbed stem, which grows in a height of 2-5 feet (61-152 cm) and has a single flower, usually with petals similar to springs protruding from the flower head.
