What is firewalking?
Despite what the name suggests, firewalking does not mean walking between the flames. Instead, the word Firewalking refers to the act of walking on the bed of red-cylinder. Firewalking is carried out barefoot, without special protection of any kind and always on coal, which still shines but no longer paying.
You want to prepare an area for firewalking, a large fire illuminates early in the afternoon and is consumed until only coal remains. After the flames died, the coal is spread over a long thin line. Firewalking is always performed at night, so everybody can clearly see shining coal. Firewalking is sometimes part of motivational seminars in which the "strength of the mind over the body" is emphasized. The idea is that by preparing the mind and entering the special state of concentration, the becoms can be avoided by burns, although logic suggests that it should happen.
skeptics claim that there is nothing magical in firewalking and provides a number of practical explanations:
- 1. The carbon is a bad thermal conductor, which means you would have to stand in the same place for a few seconds before you can really feel.
- 2.
- 3.
With these explanations, believers say that firewalking requires serious concentration by Walker and that it clearly shows what can be achieved through will.
Firewalking events take place either as part of religious ceremonies or to encourage people to try to gain self -confidence. There is even an organization called Blazed that helps people build firewalking events for the causes of fundraising and claiming their events help people fromto make thousands of dollars per night.
