What is the heavenly bamboo?

Heavenly bamboo is an evergreen shrub that has stems that somewhat resemble bamboo sticks. Yet it is not really bamboo. This shrub normally produces medium pink to purple flowers at the end of spring or early summer, followed by red berries in the autumn. It can be grown as an ornamental shrub or used as part of a hedge.

This small tree usually keeps its leaves throughout the year. However, this may not apply when temperatures reach 10 ° F (-12 ° C). In this range, the leaves usually fall from the bush. When temperatures reach -10 ° F (-23.33 ° C), the tree branches sometimes also die. Having sticks or leaves to die back does not mean that the plant dies when they normally return in the spring.

The branches of the heavenly bamboo can be around one inch (2.54 cm) strong and very robust. This can make pruning or restrictions difficult. The sticks usually do not blame, but instead grow directly and down. They normally grow in clusters, as well as many bamboo varieties. These clumps can be in a strict patternor growth and create the appearance of a similar bush.

The mature plant can be between six and eight feet (1.83 to 2.44 m) high. Some trees sometimes reach a height of up to 10 feet (3.05 m). It can also be expanded between four to six feet (1.22 to 1.83 m) to width. The heavenly bamboo usually grows best when it is placed in full sunlight, but can also tolerate a partial shadow. It can normally tolerate different soils and can also flourish in wet places.

While the flowers of heavenly bamboo plants are usually pink or purple, they can also be white. Bush Bush are usually pink just before opening in spring. In autumn, these flowers usually give way to dark red fruit. These berries generally remain in winter if birds do not eat or germinate back due to low temperatures.

This shrub can usually be grown by inexperienced gardeners because of the fact that it is usually very durable. HeavenThe bamboo can put an interesting splashing color into an otherwise boring winter landscape. Fragrant flowers can sometimes attract birds and butterflies to the garden. Those looking for a unique shrub to plant in their yard may want to consider inclusion.
