What is iResine?
iresine is a tropical permanent plant. In most gardens, it is often considered annual or grown in a container as in the room. The plant was once grown for healing purposes - mostly deprived the body of evil spirits or to improve male power. However, clearly colored leaves of the plant are its most significant feature that lend their ornamental value in the garden. In fact, the common name of the Bloodleaf plant is derived from the blood of the red color of the plant.
There are more than twenty types of iResine plants. Some look more similar to shrubs, while others use climbing characteristics. Flowers are rarely made; And when they are, they are usually rather inconspicuous. These small, top flowers are usually followed by numerous seeds. Some are smooth and others may be fuzzy. The color of the leaves can be solid or found in various combinations of green, red, purple or bronze. Although the rank -ranging dies between species, all of them tend to share the same reddish hundrednky, leaves or veins.
The most commonly grown species includes i. Herbstii , which is also known as Beefsteak. It can reach up to two feet tall (0.6 meters) and has purple red stems and leaves. This kind of iResine is originally from Brazil. i. Wallisii is a much smaller variety with bronze red leaves above and darker red on the underside. Both i. Celosia , from Central America and i. Difusa from the United States and Central and South America have been grown as medicinal plants for centuries.
planting and care for the plant iResine is not very difficult. Cuts can be done in spring and then inserted into damp sand. They should be covered with plastic and placed in a warm place. Once the roots have been established, they can be transplanted into individual pots or planted outdoors in a suitable climate. People outside should be distributed about six to ten inches(15-25 cm) apart.
bloodshed varieties should also be grown in a damp but well drainage soil. In general, the same mixture of clay, compost or rot and peat will be enough. Since iResine plants enjoy both heat and sun, they must also be given these conditions. In colder areas, the plant should be grown inside, which is located in a clearly lit area. During the summer, however, it can go outside and return in before the first frost.
During its active growth, this plant requires thorough irrigation, keeps it moist but not undulating. In winter, water should be reduced, but occasional fog may be needed. Pressing high shoots helps the plant to maintain the bushes.
