What is jazz?
Jazz is one of the few art that can be considered a truly American. This form of music was founded primarily in the south, it was the first major African American contribution to hear around the world. Its constantly changing nature and free rules allow it to be flexible, and it is possible that the audience of all ages. The city was home to legendary players such as Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton. New players used the piano to combine the feeling of ragtime with already established sounds. James Reece Europe began experimenting with full orchestras, a real testimony of classic jazz improvisation.
Today, jazz still hears as it sounds in Smokey Clubs in cities like Kansas City, Memphis and New Orleans, but the new generation began to appreciate the sounds of jazz and swings. Bands like Brian Setzer Orchestra, Big Bad Voo Daddy and Cherry Poppin 'Daddies captivated their own modern view of the genre and drawn in a much younger audience.
It is a sound that really influenced all types of music. Today, electronic DJ and Rappers as well as a "demonstration" or borrow hooks from famous jazz songs. Jazz, who started in the streets of New Orleans to turn on the turntables at parties, is really American Artform and is proud.
