What is long underwear?

Long underwear is a type of garment that is worn under clothing that protects the body from cold weather. Sometimes also referred to a long Johns, usually has a shirt shape and trousers in the style of legging, although some claim that one -piece underwear can also be classified as long underwear. Long underwear was traditionally made of natural fibers such as cotton and wool. Progress at the end of the 20th century in textile technology made it possible to create long underwear made of synthetic materials that offer excellent body temperature control. It can be worn by individuals in many different situations, such as those who work outside, those who participate in winter sport, such as skiing, or those who just want to stay warm during the winter months. Despite their name, most people do not wear long underwear as a replacement for the lower amounts. Rather, it is usually worn between the lower pants and the outer shirt and pants.

For most people, these garments contain long sleeves and trousers in the style of legging. While these two items are often sold as a set, they can be worn together or separately. This allows the wearer to decide which pieces he wants to wear on a given day on the basis of factors, such as weather conditions and the heat of his outerwear. Some argue that one -piece underwear commonly known as a union suit can also be classified as long underwear. Since the Union's suit does not have separate pieces of the upper and lower part, they do not allow the same level of body temperature control offered by long John sets, and many consider it inferior clothing.

Traditionally, long underwear made of natural fibers such as wool and cotton, often woven to form a "waffled" texture. While such materials are breaks, which allows to circulate air around the skin, they may require considerable drying time asThey will be pleasantly subdued with sweat or rain, thus threatening their ability to keep the wearer warm. Progress in textile technology at the end of the 20th century allowed the production of underwear to retain heat made of synthetic materials such as polyester. These synthetic materials are designed to draw sweating and moisture from the skin and dry quickly, allowing the wearer to remain warm in all types of winter weather.
