What is lycopodium?
Lycopodium is a genus of earth or epiphytic plants belonging to the Lycopodiaae family, which is widely referred to as the Clubmoss family. The general name Clubmoss comes from the Greek words lycos , which means Wolf and podos , which means a leg, referring to the tips of the branches of these plants reminiscent of the wolf's paw. Other common names used to indicate these plants are creeping cedar and pine. These plants range from 0.49 feet (0.15 m) to 1.97 feet (0.60 m) per height depending on the type. Another significant feature of these plants is their many branches, which are covered with small leaves. Along their horizontal and creeping stems, there are upright shoots that are covered with leaves that are simple, scale similar or needles.
