What is magical realism?
Magical Realism is the genre of art, literature and performance in which the elements of fantastic are presented in the context of very real scenes and events, usually without commentary. This artistic genre has appeared in Latin America, although examples can also be drawn from other regions of the world. Some remarkable characters in this area include Salvador Dal, Jorge Luis Borges, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende, Rene Magritte, Jose Saramago and M.C. Escher.
Some people mistakenly accumulate magic realism as a genre with imagination, but in fact this genre is clearly separated. The central point is not dreamy, fantastic or supernatural elements that appear, but rather a very real world that serves as a frame for piece. Magic realism is often extremely serious and contains a built -in commentary on art, culture and human nature. People can enjoy these works deeply, drawn into an interesting world and fascinating characters, but it is not far away from escape, which forces people to face very realproblems and situations. For example, the spirit may appear in the novel, and although its presence may seem difficult to accept for the reader, the characters seem to have no problems with the existence and action of spirit.
Often very terrible things happen in this genre. The deeds of sadism, torture and murders can be committed by different characters, and people often fight intensely brutal, sad or frustrating situations. The solution of such situations can be imperfect, reflecting the reality of the world, and readers, and viewers are often concerned and even disturbed after immersion of the ITNO genre. Permanent lessons and memories tend to endure years after they have absorbed the example of this genre, and sometimes viewers or readers even find themselves persecuted with a work of art.
Most libraries and bookstores have several examples of literature from this genre and employees are often happy to recommend people who are not familiar with significant party. Art works, which are considered magical realism, can be found on the display in galleries and museums and are also widely reproduced. Some art masters in the genre are quite well known for their distinctive, scary work.
