What is maple veneer?

Maple veneer is cut out of trees logos in the family Acer , which contains about 125 species. Because different species have different grain patterns, veneer often has beautiful and distinctive patterns. Maple sugar ( Acer sacchaum ) is a particularly popular choice for the production of this product.

As with other types of veneer, the map veneer is created by laying very thin pieces of beautiful or exotic wood-in this case of maple-on the substrate to create a more beautiful and expensive looking product. Today, the maple layer is usually a thickness of 1/90 to 1/40 inch (0.028 to 0.064 cm). It is used for small ornamental projects, fine furniture and lining. The quilted veneer is produced when the flat cut reveals the overall corrugated formula. The shapes look a bit like water waves. This pattern usually occurs in Acer Makrophyllum , also called bigleaf or Broadleaf Maple.
