What is mini golf?
Mini Golf, also known as a miniature golf and a generalized Putt-Putt trademark, is a sports modeled after a life-size sport of the same name. The game was created in Scotland at the beginning of the 20th century as a way to enjoy golf "feminine", which quickly became popular among film stars and celebrities. The first miniature golf course in America was Thistle Dhu or "This will do it." Open in 1916 in Pinehurst, North Carolina, as a tribute to the Louvre's Tuileries garden, accompanied by sculptures, fountains and sophisticated terraces. However, the original courses were simple flat landscapes that look very different from those that connect today.
until the beginning of the 20th year of the 20th century, mini golf took off, partly due to the invention of the "artificial green", which allowed to open everywhere without having to keep the grass. Another revolution came in the 40s of the 20th century, when obstacles were first introduced.
Many are usually the same as in regular gOLFU: The playground has 18 holes and players must try to hit the holes in the least blows. However, Mini Golf also has a number of obstacles, including ramps, tunnels and animated barriers. Many courses are based on topics such as pirates, tropical jungles or fairy tales. Designs can be quite complex, with handmade patterns and state -of -the -art props and animatronics.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is considered a "mini golf capital of the world" with more than 50 courses only in the city center. Florida comes just a second, especially in tourist areas and in the resorts. Florida also boasts some of the most complicated courses, many of which resemble rides in the amusement park and are in themselves attractiveness.
Mini Golf is popular as family entertainment, but is also considered an official sport, featuring the competitive Around World. Organization as US for Mini-Golf Association (us aspemga) and World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) organize championships. Professional players focus on equal introduction, without obstacle courses that would interfere in the game.
