What is monoskieing?
Monoskiing is a winter -related winter sport that uses only double skiing. The skier planted both legs on the board forward and skis using traditionally stylized ski poles. Monoskiing is sometimes compared to snowboarding, a sport that has replaced Monoskiing after 80 years. Monoskiing is an interesting alternative to regular skiing, especially for skiers with disabilities or those with weak knees.
Monoski was invented in the 1950s, but at the end of the 1960s the proposal was picked up by a Californian surfer who refined and popularized a sport that remained popular for about 20 years. Monoski is built similarly to conventional skis, except that it is double wide. The ties are placed side by side so that the legs skiers are basically locked together.
A device used for monoskiing is usually identical to a device used in conventional skiing. Monoskyrs need ski poles, ski boots, ties and dočaSIVING garment. Sport is relatively easy for ordinary skiers to pick up, even if they require it to get used to, especially when it comes to balance. It is possible to perform ski pieces on monoshis, and also reach high speeds, catch air and engage in traditional running skiing.
Monoskiing is easier to knees than conventional skiing. For this reason, some skiers with weak knees accepted monoskieing, which focuses on the weight between the knees while moving with the axis of movement. Individuals with a history of knee injuries may want to look at monosks. Monoskieing also requires a lot of efforts of the upper body that balances the work between the upper and lower body more evenly than in conventional skiing.
Special equipment for paraplegic skiers is also called Monoski. Monoski for skiing with disabilities is in fact a type of chair with a skier mounted that candata only the upper body. For paraplegia, which lacks skiing, or paraplegia interest in picking up a new sport can be very much semi -seizure.
Snowboard came into popularity after Monoski and many winter sports enthusiasts went to snowboarding. Snowboards are more stable than Monoskis, although learning curve is steeper. Despite the popularity of snowboard, monoskiing is still practiced in some parts of the world. In some regions, it may be difficult to get monoski and lessons, but monoching is a sport that is worth exploring.
