What is Pachystachys?

Pachystachys is a genus of flowering plants that include 12 species. These plants are generally originally from tropical regions of Central and South America. Evergreen shrubs have permanent flowers that bloom at the end of spring autumn. They can be placed in gardens or kept as houseplants. In gardens or as houseplants, however, these plants usually grow only 1 or 2 feet (0.3-0.6 m).
