What is Pythium?

Pythium is a genus of pathogenic parasites found in water, as well as a humid, humid environment. These organisms were considered to be fungi historically and often treat them because they behave like pathogenic mushrooms. They can colonize fields, cause problems with crops and gardens, and several species also cause disease in humans or animals. Infection Pythium is known as Pythiosis. This may be a problem for people trying to control Pythium in an area like a garden, farm or lawn, because organisms naturally stop causing problems when the environment dries just to reappear as soon as it becomes wet. For these organisms, regions with a slight climate are ideal because winter creates stagnant water and slight temperatures above frost, ideal for spreading the body.

in plants Pythium attacks roots, causing root rot. Blown, phenomenon where seedlings do not give up and eventually turn to porridge can be this organism ZPEffective by many others. In an area like a lawn, brown and unhealthy grasses appear, and as the water moves below the ground, it carries parasites together, causing the problem to spread. Chemical checks for treatment Pythium are available and it is also possible to allow the soil to lie in order to essentially starve organisms.

In animals, infections with this organism lead to the development of persistent red lesions that can penetrate the bone. Livestock, such as cattle and horses, are particularly high risk as frequent areas with standing water can easily pick up parasites. There were also cases of pythiosis in humans, cats and dogs. Diagnosis requires the use of a biopsic sample and its sending to laboratory analysis and pythiosis is often during initial examination and control.

treatment may include debridement lesion to remove infected material along with administrationdrugs. In extreme cases, amputation may be required to remove the infected limb if the infection does not respond to treatment. Quickly, attentive care of someone who is familiar with the organism will increase the chances of successful and minimally invasive treatment. It is important to get care or seek veterinary attention for any persistent lesion, especially if it grows, causes extreme pain, develops discharges or feels hot and tender to touch.
