What is scientology?

Scientology, managed by the Church of Scientology (CSI) , is an unconventional religion founded by Ron L. Hubbard (1911-1986). The word itself means study of truth, knowledge or skill . Scientology roots began in Hubbard's best -selling book, Dianetics , for the first time published in 1950. With the help of an "auditor", the person can "clean" these memories and freely enjoy the widespread states of consciousness, increased intelligence and overall well -being. Scientology has expanded the principles described in dianetics and extended them to include spiritual consciousness. Hubbard's philosophy of Scientology began in 1952. Many celebrities are commonly associated with religion, including Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley and John Travolta. In the 1980 reader's article, Hubbard was quoted as he said: “If one really wants to earn a million dollars, the best way would be to start inLasty religion. ”

Throughout Dianetics and Scientology, Hubbard takes concepts from various areas, including medicine and religion, such as Buddhism and Hinduism, and fulfills them with its own philosophy. Some doctors and scientists discount scientology as unhealthy science. Others consider its certain aspects potentially harmful.

Scientology has its share in the controversy of the associated with it. Members were encouraged to break the ties with family or friends who are critical of the organization. In United States vs. Mary Sue Hubbard (D.D.C. 1979) It was found that Hubbard's wife and several other scientologists infiltrated the government of the United States for wiretapping and theft. Various deaths that are considered suspects were associated with the Scientology Church, including the suicide of one of Hubbard's own children, George Quentin Hubbard (1954-1976), jaleather with the death of McPherson, Noah Lottick and Susan Meister. While some find church philosophies themselves and enlightenment to contrast sharply with these controversies, others consider Scientology a great benefit for their lives.
