What is the sedum?

Sedum or Stonecrop is a family of succulent plants of leaves of Crassulavae family. There are more than 400 species that include annual herbs, creeping herbs and shrubs. Plants in this family are popular in the gardens as a ground land due to their hardness and attractive appearance. Most of them have five-ooulated flowers and come in green, red, pink, gold and yellow varieties.

While sedum is most often grown as a ground cover, some varieties are popular domestic plants. These include sedum morganum or donkey tail, light green juicy with bright pink flowers and sedum rubrotinctum , also called Jelly Bean, which has round green and red leaves. These houseplants are relatively easy to take care of and most of them can be grown from cuttings. They are susceptible to spillway, especially in the months when they are sleeping. Another variety, sedum acre or biting Stonecrop, is sharp and pungent in taste and somewhat toxic. Historically, it has been used to induce abortion and healing epilepsy and undermines relatives. Too much eating can cause cramps, mucosal irritation or paralysis.
