What is soap tile?

Miacone tiles is made of metamorphic rock called steatit. It is used for boards, sinks, bathtubs, floors and garden tiles. It can also be used for wooden stoves and fireplaces. Soap is often confused with a talc, a soft stone used for carving, which is commonly referred to as soap. Soapstone contains talc and other minerals, but is extremely dense. Soap is softer than other stones commonly used in tiles such as granite or marble, but it is hard to withstand regular use.

Although some varieties have a greenish shade, soap tiles are almost always light or dark gray. Some are tightly colored, while other types may have white or gray veins and resemble dark marble. The tiles have a matte surface. High SOAPSTONE density is unnecessary seal because it cannot hold liquid. Soap tile color can be darkened with regular oil applications, usually mineral oil. Mineral oil also helps to make the tiles more uniforms colored. OiledSoap is almost always black or dark gray.

Although the soap tile is relatively soft, it is quite durable. Work kitchens are often completed with soap, where it wears and develops patina in places most commonly used. The soap is non -porous and chemically inert, which makes it impermeable for chemicals such as acids or strong cleaning agents. It is also highly heat -resistant to protect it from burns from hot pans. Soap stone is commonly used on laboratory table tops and in industrial environments where acid is used to resist stains and heat.

SOAPSTONE SCRESS's syap tile is perhaps regularly used. Most damage by fine scratches can be hidden with regular oil and deeper scratches can usually be grinding. While stains of cooking oil, food and skin of people can show up on tile soap, stainNYs can be bay -red by drilling the surface. After the soap stone has been oiled regularly for about a year, it remains dark for a long time and requires very low maintenance.

Stones and wood fireplaces are often made of soap tiles, because heat does not cause it to burst or degrade over time. Soapstone also maintains heat and radiates it evenly for several hours after the fire comes out, reducing the amount of wood needed to warm the stove. Soap stone boards are often used to produce surfaces on the tops of wood stoves because the stone causes heat.
