What is Sustagen®?

Sustagen® is a brand of consumables made by Mead Johnson & Company®. Six varieties of nutritional products fall under this brand, all in chocolate and vanilla taste. Five drinks and one pudding are primarily sold to people in New Zealand and Australia, but are also known in Latin America and Brazil. In the United States and Great Britain, beverages are called Boost® energy drinks and are sold with Nestle®.

One variety of Mead Johnson & Company®, Formula Sustagen® Hospital Formula, is sold in the flavors of clean chocolate and vanilla. This powder can be mixed with water or milk and can be served hot or cold. The drink has 27 vitamins and minerals and is gluten -free and mostly fat -free. Can be administered as a substitute or food supplement. The second variety, Formula Hospital Formula Plus in Sustagen® Hospital, is basically the same as a hospital formula, but with another dietary fiber for digestion.

Instant Pudding Sustagen® has 24 vitamins and Miner and is available in vanilla taste. This pudding, mixed with water, milk or juice, is set within minutes at a room temperature. The product can also be used as a food supplement, either consumed by itself or mixed with other foods. Ice cream, cleaned fruit or coffee powder can also be used to flavor the pudding.

only in powder form, Sustagen® Sport is offered in chocolate and vanilla taste. This product is based on milk and is designed for the use of athletes and bodybuilders. The main purpose is to maintain athletes hydrated and under tension. This sports drink is not considered a protein cocktail due to its relatively low amount of protein. However, some athletes and bodybuilders add this powder to their usual protein vibration to improve their taste.

It is ready for drinking in Dutch chocolate, French vanilla and mega choc. On the other hand, the formula ready for mixing is offered only in Dutch chocolate and vanilla.

In 2006, the Sustagen® brand gained some popularity when the nutritionist recommended to give the products three trapped miners. Hundreds of journalists were at the crime scene to document rescue and witness products that were sent to miners. Less than a day after a successful rescue, however, one of the miners made a contemptuous remark about the product's taste.
