What is the termite bait?
Termite Bait is a method of controlling termites, which is used as an alternative to treat the barrier. Barrier treatment cannot be used if a hole or a French drain is present on the plot because the water can be contaminated. The bait systems do not choose chemicals in the ground, so they are safe for use under any conditions. Home owners are available two types of Termite Bait systems; underground and above -ground systems. The bait system consists of a plastic cylinder that holds two or more pieces of treated wood. When Termites feed on wood and take it back to the colony, they release a slow poison that eventually erases the entire colony. Under ground baits are recommended for use when the problem of termites has not reached complete contamination, because the process is slow and tiring.
When the bait is originally installed under the ground systems, untreated wood is used. This is because once the wood is treated, it will quickly decompose underground. After the bait system has been detected, the termites are undoneThe wood switches with the bait.
bait systems are located 15 to 20 feet (4.57 to 6.1 meters) from the perimeter of the house. Termites cannot detect bait and therefore must hit them by accident. The more available bait systems, the more likely it is that termites will come across. The process of discovery may take weeks or months, depending on the Termit Colony food habits.
Termite Bait's ground systems look very much like underground versions and use the same bait system. This type of bait system should not be used in areas where children and pets are present because they are highly poisonous and easily accessible. The above -ground baitystms can be used separately or in conjunction with the version underground for rapid and efficient erase of the infestation of termites.
Installation of this type of bait system includes breaking active Termite tubes and the location of the bait in the tunnel. They can also be installed on the top of the wood contaminated with termit, plasterboard or columns. The effects of this type of system are visible much faster because the bait is located on the way that has already been set, instead of waiting for new termites.
