What is Boogeyman?
Boogeyman, also speaking Bogeyman, is an imaginary monster that children often believe. Traditionally, adults used Boogeyman to endanger children to sleep in time, although this practice seems to be contraintuitive. Boogeyman can also be used as a threat to induce children to complete food or for cooling in general. The Boogeyman versions exist almost generally, and some psychologists believe that the monster can spring from the evolutionary needs in the prehistoric time to discourage children from wandering from the security of the group. The monster is usually said to live under a baby bed or in a closet and appear at night, although in some areas of the United States scratch on the nursery window. Boogeyman is usually more or less humanoid, although it can be much greater or smaller than the runners. He is often dressed in black and can carry a bag or basket with which children can carry. Some cultures believe in the female, witches similar to the equivalent of Boogeyman.

In the English -speaking world, there are several well -known Boogyman characters, including the Irish creature of Rawhead and Bloodybones, and Freddy Kreuger in Nightmare on Elm Street films.
